Our Story
Meet Robert!

Robert Figueroa at the San Diego Zoo, AAC Device within reach!
VoiceBridge is a family-founded company created in honor of Robert Figueroa, a nonspeaking AAC user whose journey shows us just how life-changing access to communication can be.

Robert began using PECS in early childhood, before many of today’s robust AAC systems were widely available. Now, as an adult, he continues to develop new communication skills with the support of his family, caregivers, and clinicians.

Robert’s experiences with AAC led our family to create solutions that use advanced technology to better support AAC users and the people around them, including clinicians, families, caregivers, and communication partners. We saw an opportunity for AAC technology to evolve alongside other industries, and we felt compelled to create meaningful tools that empower people like Robert to communicate, connect, and be understood.

Mission & Vision
Our mission is to support AAC users, clinicians, caregivers, and communication partners by advancing AAC technology through clinically guided development. We are committed to investing in meaningful research, including an ongoing university-based study evaluating our existing tools.

We believe the future of AAC holds tremendous potential for innovation. Our goal is to continually improve and expand the tools available while keeping AAC users, the individuals these solutions are designed to serve, at the center of every decision.
